**Thiruvananthapuram:** SUT Hospital organized **‘Hemobond’** a special gathering of dialysis patients which focused on kidney health and dialysis care, on the occasion of World Kidney Day. The event, held at the SUT Conference Hall on 22nd March witnessed active participation from healthcare professionals, dialysis patients, and their caregivers.
Hon’ble Minister for Food & Civil Supplies, Shri. G R Anil inaugurated the event and spoke about the importance of early detection and prevention of kidney diseases. Col. Rajeev Mannali, CEO of the hospital delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the hospital’s 37-year legacy in kidney care. One of the highlights of the event was the experience-sharing session where dialysis patients shared their personal journeys and their bond with SUT Hospital.
The event also featured a panel discussion titled ‘Are Your Kidneys OK? Myths & Facts’, moderated by Dr. Rajasekharan Nair (Medical Superintendent) and Dr. Ponnu Sherin Prasad (MO - Dialysis). The expert panel included Dr. P. Sivaramakrishnan (Sr. Consultant, Department of Urology), Dr. Jacob George (Sr. Consultant, Department of Nephrology), Dr. Nandagopal V. (Sr. Consultant, Department of Urology), Dr. Vishnu R. S. (Sr. Consultant, Department of Nephrology), Dr. Nayana Vijay (Consultant, Department of Nephrology) and Mrs. Preethi R. Nair (Chief Clinical Nutritionist).
The panelists provided valuable insights into kidney health,exposed common myths and answered queries from the audience. The event concluded on a positive note reinforcing SUT Hospital’s commitment to quality kidney care and patient centric approach to healthcare. HR Manager of the hospital Devi Krishna welcomed the audience and Chief Dialysis technician Gopakumar P R delivered the Vote of Thaks.
