Thiruvananthapuram: A year-long free cancer screening initiative has been launched as part of the ‘Arogyam Anandam – Akattam Arbudam’ cancer prevention campaign initiated by the State Government. The program is being conducted jointly by SUT Hospital, Snehathalam, and Swasty Foundation in association with the ‘Cancer Safe Kerala’ initiative as a Public-Private Partnership model.
The screening facility will be available for five pre-registered individuals on the first Tuesday and last Thursdays of every month. The program offers free cancer screening tests including Pap smears, mammograms, and CA 125 tests (Diagnosis of Ovarian cancer) for women, as well as PSA tests (Diagnosis of Prostate cancer) and CA 19.9 for men along with free consultation with an oncologist. Cancer awareness programme also being conducted as part of the initiative.
This aims to promote cancer prevention through lifestyle modifications, early detection, and timely medical intervention, ensuring accurate treatment at the initial stages of cancer. For registration and further details, contact 9645001472, 7902793097.
