At the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH), we believe education should be inclusive and equitable for everyone. Since 1997, we’ve been pioneering specialized programs like BSc Computer Science, B.Com, and BFA tailored for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) students. But here’s the challenge: our current classrooms lack the advanced digital tools needed to fully engage visual learners. Outdated equipment makes it harder for DHH students to understand and retain course material, limiting their academic growth.

Our Vision: Smart Classrooms for Inclusive Education
We aim to transform traditional classrooms into digitally equipped, interactive learning spaces that meet the unique needs of DHH students. By introducing:
- Full-HD Smart Projectors for visually rich lessons
- PCs and UPS systems to ensure uninterrupted learning
- Interactive whiteboards to encourage participation
This upgrade will bridge accessibility gaps, aligning with NEP 2020 goals of inclusive education and preparing students for a digital future.
Why This Matters
- Better Access: Smart projectors and digital tools make lessons clearer and more engaging.
- Improved Outcomes: Digital classrooms support stronger comprehension and academic success.
Support This Change
We’re seeking CSR funding from organizations like SUT Pattom to make this vision a reality. The total investment of ₹3.97 lakh will directly enhance classrooms, benefiting every DHH student at NISH. Together, we can create a future where no student is left behind—a future where accessibility and technology empower every learner.
